Established in 1922, Guide Right is a national service program of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.  At inception, this national service program was established to implement a meaningful and practical approach to the problem of black youth underachievement. Today, the Guide Right program has a number of sub-programs and the greatest among them is Kappa League.  The purpose of Guide Right is to provide awareness, education, and exposure to professions, career options, and offer scholarship support for talented students of low-income families.

The Five Objectives

  1. Help youth, especially those of high school age, in their selection of course leading to vocations compatible with their aptitude and personalities.

  2. Assist students through academic and life coaches to facilitate employment and to progress successfully in their chosen fields.

  3.  Support parents by providing them with opportunities to expose their sons to a range of members of the community who are successful in their chosen vocations.

  4.  Offer youths an alternative to the temptations of the streets, through civic, sponsored entertainment, and cultural enrichment.

  5. To re-enforce the values of higher education, of assistance available for continued educational pursuits, scholarship, loan, professional counseling, and fellowship. Provide information on various occupational opportunities, the current labor market, and requirements for obtaining employment
